should i play sports in college?

okay so im athletic and am considering playing a sport in college. its weird though there will be times where i want to so badly and feel like my life will be nothing if i dont get to play for 4 more years, but then there are days where i dont want to because i feel like i just want to be free from the binding commitment of sports. another reason is that im scared, and i know it will be soo much hard work and conditioning and i hate running so much and that scares me. but like im afraid if i dont go for it and conquer a fear now it will carry over to everything i do in my life, and if i can survive D1 athletics, i can do anything and will learn a lot. but then again im so scared and my whole life has been taken over by sports and it seems nice to finally not be committed, yet i feel like i would be really bored. also i feel like i would be wasting my given talent if i stopped. please give me advice or opinions

  3. yes so when you be biger you can play reall sports
  4. if u wann be healthy and u should still keep space for other subjects
  5. focus on studys do well if you want do it but only if you think you have a future in it.
  6. yep you should
  7. At least try it then decide. That way you'll never have to wonder "what if".
  8. I say that if you want to then you go for it. Maybe, don't start out so tough, and then as you get stronger, go harder. You don't have to start out like Macho man like the first week. Do whatever you instincts tell you to do, and then do what I do. !!! : )
  9. If you have the time, play sports!! Especially if you have a future in them!! Stick to one if you don't want to burn out. You could stay in great shape thats for sure!
  10. I played in Junior College and didn't when I went to the University. I now regret it. I would have met some really nice people and I may have been signed somewhere. I just wanted to get school out of the way. So, consider the time you have to put into it. Being a student athlete is very demanding but could be rewarding. I say go for it. You could quit anytime and focus more on the books later.
  11. I was faced with a silmilar decision about 4 years ago. I had played hockey all my life and had to choose between going on and going to school. At times I regret not giving sports some more time before going to school, but at the same time, I am glad that I have completed 3 years of education. I've heard a lot of advice that made me think about the decision I made. 1. Do you love sports? Or do you like sports? There's a big difference. 2. Will you regret it if you don't try? (Always wonder if you could've done it?) 3. You're young and can always get an education, but when you're older it gets more difficult to play sports. Maybe those pieces of advice will help you in your decision. Best of luck.
  12. im not sure about college sports either on the one hand its a great pay off... i mean u could get about 20,000 (depending on the school) of free money just to play a game on the other hand its a huge commitment and cuts into your social life and school work u can't do a sport in college unless u truly love it. otherwise if u do something u dont want to do u will hate ur college experience
  13. I think you should. Being athletic can have many advantages. But you have to make sure you don't let it take over your life. You will be fit (healthy), you can use your talent.. and we all know being healthy makes your life so much more better. Plus its an awesome way to get a scholarship. Go for it, and you will feel good. Plus girls love athletic guys! good luck in life :)
