My son was born with only one kidney can he play sports?

My son was born with only one kidney he is now 7 yrs old and very active. he really wants to get into sports like football, baseball, and basketball. Can he play any of these sports? Should i worry about this?

  1. he should be fine. he's made it 7 years! if you are worried, ask his doctor. i'm sure he'll be fine.
  2. Yes, he is perfectly normal, one kidney and all . But, he should be monitered while partaking in physical activity, and should be checked by a specialist regularly to prevent kidney failure.
  3. iiii'd stay away from very physical sports (i.e. football) check with ur doctor, he might b fine to do whatever he pleases but watch his health carefully (but don't baby him. he'd probably get annoyed). if he hurts more than normal after the sports, see you doctor or have him take a practice or two off and see how he's doing without them. Being active would b good, just dont stretch it.
  4. Yes, absolutely he can.. human with one kidney can live normally, in case that his kidney is working good. U could take your son into routine medical check up. and off course you should ask his doctor's advise..
